"A sketchbook is a secret thing, a collection of unfinished and often times abandoned ideas never intended for public consumption—at least not in their current state. It’s a private space for honing one’s craft and workshopping, separating good ideas from those best left unexplored." -Brian Heater at The Daily Cross Hatch.

Quick one for today. This sailor is removing paint on the USS Blue Ridge while underway.

  1. Thanks for the compliments on Casco Bay Boaters! I jumped to your site from a link on Bills of Lading. Love the sketches! I put a preview and linked back to Chipping Paint on next week's Maritime Monday. Keep 'em coming!

PS: Inking in the ocean on the drawing beneath it works just fine, and serves to anchor the image. A level horizon might even it out a touch (wink) Seriously, I'll be watching!

  2. Thanks Monkey Fist! I appreciate all constructive criticism. Don't be shy. Thanks for the plug!
